ONE PLAYER VERSION: Player uses cards as flashcards to practice reading words and phrases.
GAME VERSION: 2 or more players.
CARD DECK: 20 Words or Phrases; 4 “Ha-ha” Fly; 5 Fly-Catching Frog. Total: 29 Cards
- Each word on a card = 1 point.
- “Ha-ha” Fly = Other player does 5 Jumping Jacks (or other action – LOL!).
- Fly-Catching Frog = End of Turn. Next player’s turn to earn points.
GAME PLAY: Student reads all of the words and phrases during the game, but each player earns the point value of whatever cards are dealt during their turn. The Player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
GAME PLAY EXAMPLE: Player 1 is dealt the phrase card, “had a pan” and earns 3 points, which is 1 point for each word. If Player 1 is dealt a “Ha-Ha” Fly Card during his turn, then Player 2 does 5 Jumping Jacks (or other action). Player 1 continues to earn one point for each word dealt until a Fly-Catching Frog is dealt, which means End of Turn.
Then it is Player 2’s turn to earn points. If Player 2 is dealt a “Ha-Ha” Fly Card during his turn, then Player 1 does 5 Jumping Jacks (or other action). Player 2 continues to earn one point for each word dealt until a Fly-Catching Frog is dealt, which means End of Turn.
Then it is Player 1’s turn again. Play continues as above until all of the cards are played or a pre-set time has elapsed.
